APPLY TO SHOWCASE AT CMA'S NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN JANUARY 2011
Chamber Music America will present showcases by CMA member ensembles throughout the January 14-16 weekend of the National Conference in New York City. No other conference activities take place during showcase performances. Professional ensembles that perform early music, classical, contemporary, jazz, and/or world music are encouraged to apply.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY FOR JAZZ PRESENTERS
Chamber Music America invites applications to its 2011-2012 Presenting Jazz program, which supports concert presentation of small-ensemble jazz music. The program especially encourages presentation of adventurous programs and/or projects that represent new directions for the presenter.
Deadline: October 15.

CMA/ASCAP Adventurous Programming Awards
Applications and guidelines are now available for the 2011 CMA/ASCAP Awards. These annual awards honor ensembles, presenters, and festivals who have demonstrated a commitment to contemporary chamber music through adventurous, distinctive programming. The awards, given in the categories of contemporary, jazz and mixed repertory, will be presented during the next CMA National Conference in New York City, January 13-16, 2011.

CMA EVENTS AT THE WESTERN ARTS ALLIANCE CONFERENCE

Chamber Music America will be at the WAA Conference in Long Beach, CA, from August 30 to September 3. Don't miss the following:
Showcase of CMA Ensembles
88 Squared Piano Duo, Brasil Guitar Duo, Calder Quartet, Gaudete Brass Quintet, Kat Parra and The Sephardic Music Experience, and the Zodiac Trio.
September 1, 8:00 P.M. Free and open to the public.
Participatory Performances: A New Synergy
Composer/bassoonist John Steinmetz with jazz pianist Adam Benjamin discuss what happens when professionals team up with music students, amateurs, and audience members for main-stage performances.

Open to WAA conference registrants only.
Member Get-Together
Join fellow CMA members and staff on Thursday, September 2, at 5:00-7:00 P.M. at The Wine Bar. Open to all CMA members. Conference registration not required for this event.

FRENCH AMERICAN JAZZ EXCHANGE: GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD

The program supports individual musicians and/or ensembles based in France and the U.S. for innovative collaborations involving performance and other activities, including composition, recordings, and residencies. Current Organization-level CMA membership is required for U.S. applicants. This is the final year to apply to this program in its current configuration. Deadline: October 22, 2010

CMA AWARDS $443,000 IN GRANTS TO 26 ENSEMBLES AND PRESENTERS Twenty-six organizations in 12 states will receive support from Chamber Music America for community-based residencies and for the creation and commissioning of new ensemble works. The grants are made possible through three of CMA's major programs--Classical Commissioning, New Jazz Works: Commissioning and Ensemble Development, and Residency Partnership--and are supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Chamber Music America Endowment.
