The Coastal Suite goes to Washington

Come hear the Washington D.C. premiere of The Coastal Suite by composer/pianist Alan Blackman. This is a New Jazz Works commission by Chamber Music America with generous financial support from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. This unique fusion of traditional jazz forms,like melody/solo/melody with individual free improvisation is designed to evoke a 24 hour period at the coast. Photo projections of renowned Shetland Islands artist Ruth Brownlee's watercolors will serve as a unique multidisciplinary backdrop.
