EtM's Con Edison Composer-in-Residence, Elizabeth Lim, in a free program at Bloomingdale School of Music. Program will include a presentation of the film, Three Light Bulbs for which Lim composed the score.
With this presentation, Exploring the Metropolis will join thousands of musicians and hundreds of concert presenters across the country this May in celebrating National Chamber Music Month, a nationwide initiative to raise public awareness of the many styles of small ensemble music performed and presented today. The month-long series of performances, residencies, pre- and post-concert discussions, and other chamber music events will showcase ensemble music of all styles, including early, classical, jazz, and world music. Last year, participation spanned all fifty states and featured both well-established and emerging ensembles.
Chamber Music America, the national network of ensemble music professionals and the organization behind National Chamber Music Month, has encouraged ensembles and presenters to utilize this month to increase public awareness of chamber music and to attract new audiences within their own communities.
