ensemble, et al., TENTH INTERVENTION, and AmmoCake team up to present a night of original and improvised new music at The Firehouse Space in Brooklyn, NY.
ensemble, et al. is a Brooklyn-based percussion group that employs elements of contemporary chamber music with a “garage band” approach to composition. The group performs original compositions and collaborations by its members Ron Tucker, Charles Kessenich, J. Ross Marshall, and Jeff Eng, many of which will appear on the groups forthcoming debut full-length present point passed.
TENTH INTERVENTION will present “Bach Interventions”, an original collaboration between co-artistic directors Hajnal Pivnick (violin, baroque violin) and Dorian Wallace (composer, piano, synthesizer) as they take you through a 21st Century reimagining of J.S. Bach’s extraordinary sonic landscape with the use of effects, amplified instruments, and synthesizer.With stunning visuals and projections by Ryan Vahey, this is a kaleidoscopic, meditative, and singular experience.
AmmoCake is a spontaneous free improvisation trio comprised of composer/pianist Dorian Wallace, electric bassist Carl Limbacher, and percussionist Max Maples.
