Fresh, inventive, and hip, the Paul Dresher Double Duo performs exciting and visually compelling music that the Los Angeles Times calls a “chamber music tour de force.” Performing as two duos—one on traditional instruments, the other on Dresher’s inventions—the ensemble plays compositions by Paul Dresher, Sam Adams, and Martin Bresnick that turn conventional notions of instrumentation and composition inside-out. Featuring the quadrachord, a remarkable 15 foot-long invented stringed instrument; the lumina, a computerized marimba; as well as violin, keyboards, percussion, and electric guitar, the group combines the conventional with the unexpected to create something refreshing and new.
