Salem Classical is the home of classical music located in the heart of the pedestrian zone of historic downtown Salem with the Old Town Hall as its principle venue. The year-round series was created to establish a musical home for local and touring musicians and is designed to provide a constant source of classical music to the residents of Salem and the thousands of visitors to the city. Salem Classical also promotes other classical events happening in or around the city of Salem.

The mission of Salem Classical is to remove the boundary between the public and performers, bringing some of the greatest music ever composed to Salem. Audiences are invited to frequent concerts as a compliment to the overall cultural experience in the city of Salem that includes dozens of restaurants, shops, and museums.

Performing groups participating in Salem Classical range from soloists, string quartets, chamber orchestras, opera recitals, piano recitals, wind ensembles, and new music groups. Performers are invited to interact with local institutions to attract the broadest range of audiences possible.

Salem Classical has partnered with the City of Salem, Salem Main Streets, and other local businesses to bring classical music to Salem.
