Description

Actor Jeffrey Wetsch joins cellist Michel Strauss and pianist Macha Belooussova, withviolinists Atis Bankas and Yuri Cho, David Samuel on viola and bassist Hilda Cowie, present a narrated chamber arrangement of Shostakovich’s stirring musical score for the 1964 Russian film adaptation of Hamlet. Also on today’s programme: Prokofiev’s Melodies (5) for violin & piano, Op. 35 bis; El├ęgie, Op.2 No.1 by Yuly Konyus; and two works by Rachmaninov: Pieces (2) for violin & piano, Op. 6, No. 2, Hungarian Dance and his passionate Cello Sonata.
