String Fantasy

Duo Sonidos with Steven Honigberg, cello, Carol Honigberg, piano, and Allen Krantz, composer. Enjoy a Mostly Spanish program beginning with Ricardo Llorca’s Handeleliana, composed for guitarist Adam Levin who will also play a solo work by Turina. The rarely performed Piano Trio from 1926 by the Spanish cellist and composer Gaspar Cassado is a delight of virtuosity with melodies evoking Old Spain. Allen Krantz, faculty member at Temple University in Philadelphia will join us to introduce his Trio for Guitar, Violin and Cello. The program also includes the exquisite Arpeggione Sonata played by cellist Steven Honigberg. To end our program, the great Histoire du Tango by Piazzolla, performed by Duo Sonidos.
