Wolfgang, Saint-Saens, Liszt and Mendelssohn

Los Angeles-based film, concert, and jazz concert Gernot Wolfgang's Rolling Hill and Jagged Ridges opens this program, featuring Camerata Pacifica's Catherine Leonard and Adam Neiman. Neiman performs Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No. 1, and joins Leonard for Saint-Saens' virtuosic Violin Sonata No. 1. According to Robert Schumann, Mendelssohn was "the Mozart of the nineteenth century;" his Piano Trio, Op. 49, is one of his most popular works.
