Flutist Peter H. Bloom, of the Duo "2", will perform chamber music and jazz standards with guitarist Mark Leighton in Concerts at West K (Kennebunk ME) on Aug 17 at 3 pm and other Maine venues (information: 1-888-887-7169). Franz Schubert, Mauro Giuliani, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, others.


Flutist Peter H. Bloom of the Duo "2" gave a lecture-recital in Braga, Portugal July 18, 2014, as part of the Animusic Portugal Organological Conference.  Bloom performed on two 19th-century flutes by the great American maker Alfred G. Badger.


"2" has just recorded Pamela Marshall's Zoa (2011) for flute, alto flute, piccolo and harp, to be released later this year on Navona Records.

The internationally acclaimed "2" (Peter H. Bloom, flute and alto flute; Mary Jane Rupert, piano) will perform Kleemation (2003) by Elizabeth Vercoe and Sonata Op 22 by Marion Bauer Dec 14 at 8 pm, Opensound, 33 Union Sq, Somerville MA, 617 776 8778.


Duo "2" (Peter H. Bloom, flute; Mary Jane Rupert, piano & harp) toured the Southeast with famed mezzo-soprano D'Anna Fortunato, performing Fanny & Felix Mendelssohn, Ravel, Richard Nelson, Elizabeth Vercoe, & Schubert's Shepherd on the Rock (Bloom's transcr for alto flute, Noteworthy Sheet Music).


Flutist Peter H. Bloom of the duo "2" will perform new music by Karl Henning at Boston's King's Chapel Tues, Oct 8 at 12:15 pm.  Bloom will appear with the internationally acclaimed Aardvark Jazz Orchestra Oct 9 at 8 pm, Scullers Jazz Club Boston.  Bloom has performed with Aardvark for 35 yrs.

Flutist Peter H. Bloom reports that Noteworthy Sheet Music has published his flute transcription of Fantaisie Opus 124 by Camille Saint-Saëns. The piece, originally for violin & harp, is frequently performed by Bloom and harpist Mary Jane Rupert in thier global tours as the duo "2".
