Akropolis launced its most successful video last week! Bringing back their Web Premier Series with a work by Marc Mellits, Splinter, they reached a record high 8,000 views and over 40 shares in just three days on Facebook. Read more press here on our page:


After a successful residency at Chamber Music Northwest, Akropolis is gearing up for their upcoming season. Highlights include appearances at LSU School of Music, Gettysburg College, Chamber Music Abu Dahbi, UT Austin, and more!


The Akropolis Reed Quintet has just finished recording their third CD, "The Space Between Us," which features the works of Rob Deemer, John Steinmetz, David Biedenbender, Jacob TV, and Gregory Wanamaker. The album is slated to to come out in October 2016 -- more details in the coming months!


Akropolis is thrilled to have been chosen for a Chamber Music America 2016 Residency Partnership Program Grant. Thank you to CMA, as well as our "Office Tour" partners at the Boll Family YMCA, Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Macro Connect, who we will visit in January, 2017.


Akropolis gets ready to record their third album, entitled "The Space Between Us." The album features composers John Steinmetz, David Biedenbender, Rob Deemer, Gregory Wanamker and Jacob TV.

Summer residencies announced for Akropolis. The group will appear at the Caramoor Music Festival and Chamber Music Northwest. More to come!


Akropolis was recently awarded the gold medal prize at the Fischoff Competition! Thank you to everyone who followed and supported us throughout the competition, and especially to those who have been with us over the past 5 years.


Akropolis will be in residency at the Juneau Jazz & Classics festival from May 12 - May 16! It will be a week of outreach events, concerts and workshops. For more info on Akropolis's involvement and the other fantastic groups participating in the Jazz & Classics festival, visit
