Arcomusical is an organization dedicated to the advancement of the Afro-Brazilian berimbau and related musical bows. Arcomusical’s activities form five pillars: composition; performance; publication & recording; research; community building. Projeto Arcomusical is a world music sextet reimagining the Afro-Brazilian berimbau through a repertoire of unique, powerful, original concert chamber music. The ensemble performs in communities, cafés, schools, and professional venues and has a myriad performances to its credit. Highlights include international conferences in South Africa and the United States and a three-week Brazilian tour in July 2015 that took the ensemble to six locations in the states of Minas Gerais and Bahia.
