Winner of the 2004-05 McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians. Nationally recognized and reviewed string quartet also known for its commitment to education and dynamic teaching. Ensemble-in-residence and artist/teachers at Stringwood and Winterstrings. Recipient of multiple CMA and NEA awards for residency work. Presents its own concert series with prominent guest artists across the Midwest. Actively commissions and premiers new works; regular appearances on public radio and TV; CD recordings on Aequebis and Centaur labels. Formed in Boston in 1986.
