Brittany Anjou is an American pianist, vibraphonist, improviser, vocalist, and composer based in New York City since 2002. Her projects include the Larceny Chamber Orchestra, The Brittany Anjou Trio, BI TYRANT (riot grrl experimental punk), BEWAA (traditional Ghanaian xylophone), and ASTAMAEA (Arabic jazz poetry). She has performed in over 18 countries in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As a young jazz player she studied with Seattle jazz women Christina Shinkle and Susan Pascal (vibraphone). She is a Roosevelt High School ('02) alumni, played with Clark Terry and Wynton Marsalis and completed a degree in jazz performance at NYU, studying with Stefon Harris and Victor Lin.
