Carpe Diem String Quartet: the premier American “indie” string quartet. Winners of five PNC Foundation ArtsAlive Awards for their commitment to community engagement and musical education, the group performs the classical string quartet repertoire, as well as gypsy, tango, folk, pop, rock, and jazz-inspired music. Defying easy classification, Carpe Diem breaks boundaries and pushes the limits of the string quartet by writing, arranging and performing music of all styles, working with artists of diverse genres, therefore bringing new audiences into the concert hall and revitalizing the chamber music experience.
