A former Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, Christian Howes has presented workshops to hundreds of high schools, middle schools, universities, private studios, and elementary programs throughout the U.S., as well as Europe and Asia. The founder of the annual Creative Strings Workshop (and intensive summer camp for improvising string players), he also founded the Creative Strings Academy, an online school serving hundreds of string players around the world with a plethora of online instructional content. Named in 2011 by the Downbeat Magazine Critics poll as #1 in Violin and nominated by the Jazz Journalists Association for "Violinist of the Year". He is the recipient in 2012 of a prestigious residencies grant from CMA.
