Founded by Carl and Barbara Grubbs, Contemporary Arts Inc., a nonprofit, collaborates with professional artists and like-minded organizations--regionally, nationally and internationally--to bring the art of jazz to a variety of audiences. Education,performance and participation focus on at-risk youth ages 4-17, senior citizens, and general audiences. Other goals: to provide role models and opportunities for aspiring artists of all ages; promote the creative/artistic well-being of children; provideeducation and entertainment to general audiences, musicians, students and other live-music enthusiasts; and to expose the community to new, exciting performing arts.

Carl Grubbs, jazz saxophonist and Co-Founder of Contemporary Arts Inc. was awarded the 2014 Ruby's Artist Award in May 2014.  The Ruby's are named for Ruby Lerner, active with the Creative Fund.


The Todd Marcus Jazz Orchestra's performance has been rescheduled.  The new date is May 26, 2012. 

Special guest: Bennie Maupin, Bass Clarinetist/Tenor Saxophone
