Edward Simon is an award-winning pianist and composer from Venezuela. His recordings, compositions and collaborations, which have included artists such as Paquito D'Rivera and Terence Blanchard, have received the highest worldwide acclaim including a Grammy Award. He has produced 13 critically acclaimed albums as a leader. Simon is a two-time CMA New Jazz Works grantee, a 2010 Guggenheim Fellow and a 2014 Doris Duke Impact Award Nominee. He maintains three working bands, his all-star trio featuring John Patitucci and Brian Blade, Ensemble Venezuela and Afinidad. Simon is a current CMA New Jazz Works recipient and is currently creating a jazz piece for his ensemble Afinidad and members of Imani Winds as guest artists.
