Guitarist Gene Ess brings his award-winning musicianship from a diverse background. He grew up playing classical piano due to his mother's being a classical pianist and a well-known piano instructor. He graduated Berklee in 1990 and moved to NYC in 1991. During the '90s he worked with the drummer Rashied Ali, touring globally and releasing an album. Gene's current album "Fractal Attraction" was released in May of 2013. This set of music continues Gene's exploration using voice as an instrument in a chamber group setting. The album has received international acclaim and also charted on the national jazz radio chart peaking at #3! Gene has worked with notable musicians such as Ravi Coltrane, Rashied Ali, Dave Liebman, and many others.
