Highly in demand in both the concert hall and in classrooms of all ages, the Kontras Quartet delights audiences with their pre-concert conversations and diverse repertoire, which includes favorites from the established string quartet canon and colorful new works from each of their native countries. Kontras, which means “contrasts” in the Afrikaans language, competed with other seasoned string quartets to win its current residency in western North Carolina.
