Since 2006 cello/piano duo martha & monica has delighted audiences with innovative programs and imaginative pairings of contemporary works and beloved masterpieces. Their repertoire spans great sonatas by Beethoven, Brahms, and Schubert, and significant20th-century works by Britten, Carter, and Janacek, to shorter works by Part and Fanny Mendelssohn. Previous seasons include: Berkeley Chamber Performances, Old First Concerts, Temple Emanu-El, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, San Francisco CommunityCenter, Dance Palace. Outreach performances at elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as senior centers throughout the region.

Lemurs are Afraid of Foosas
A performance of the final movement of Lemurs are Afraid of Fossas, "performed with the shameless panache the music deserves" (Stephen Smoliar- San Francisco Examiner), a premiere by composer Robert Greenberg, written especially for martha & monica.
Exceptional music for cello and piano: two great sonatas–a virtuosic early masterpiece by Beethoven, and Sonata (1948) by American centenarian Elliott Carter–plus exquisite songs of Poulenc (our arrangements) and a haunting lullaby by Nadia Boulanger.
