New Yor-Uba salutes the Orishas in a contemporary jazz setting, featuring Ms. Rosewoman’s original compositions & unique arrangements that Incorporate a large spectrum of Cuban spiritually-based music. Featuring fellow jazz & folklore masters, the Sept. 2013 release of a debut CD marked their 30-year anniversary and brought great acclaim as The National Public Radio Critics Poll elected the 2-CD the #1 Latin Jazz Release of 2013 & #25 of Best Recordings of the Year. Other accolades include , #14 Best Release of the Year on Dowmbeat and Jazz Times Critics Polls. Support from the National Endowment for the Arts facilitated the 1983 premiere of Rosewoman's pioneering concept/ensemble. She has received several CMA grants in recent years

August 31 2017, New Yor-Uba recorded the CMA-commissioned work, "Oru de Oro". A 45-minute suite reflecting the super-evolving concept of the ensemble and the music, this will be the majority of a new CD, to be completed in October and released in 2018. Am forever grateful to CMA for supporting our evolution. Invaluable.

New Yor-Uba performed "Oru de Oro", a 2015/16 CMA New Jazz Work, at Yale Univesrity on Feb 16th. Upcoming performances-March 17/18/19--Birhtday Celeberation at Dizzy's Lincoln Center--to include further performances of "Oru de Oro".
