PHB: “Jules Herman's ‘Grands Duos Concertants’ are works of ingenuity, charm, brilliance, grace, and humor… extraordinarily fine examples of concert-worthy duets of the late 19th century.” A re-notated edition of Duo 2 is now available from NSM.
NSM offers a re-notated edition of Charles N. Weiss’ favorite trio, “A Grand Trio for Three Flutes, Concertante”, Op. 102. The original edition is part of the “Gassett Collection” of musical works compiled by the 19th c flutist Henry Gassett.
The second movement of Haydn’s Symphony No.24 is a beautiful Adagio for solo flute accompanied by strings. John W. Pratt adapted the Adagio for flute and piano, including a cadenza, resulting in a gorgeous one-movement flute sonata.
