Declared "independent-minded" by the New Yorker, PUBLIQuartet is an engaging string quartet whose creative, interactive programming brings a fresh perspective to the classical scene. They were named the 2013 CAG New Music/New Places Ensemble and were awarded the Sylvia Anne Hewlett Adventurous Artist prize. PUBLIQuartet draws on jazz, world, and electro-acoustic influences, paring music from the classical repertoire with contemporary works, original compositions, and open-form improvisations. Their original program, MIND|THE|GAP, bridges diverse musical genres through improvisation. In 2014 PQ launched their new initiative, PUBLIQ Access, an emerging composers program which resulted in a showcase concert at the DiMenna Center in NYC.
