Led by music director Stephen Schick, this chamber ensemble performs, commissions, and records new music, focusing on works written within the past ten years. A ten-time winner of the CMA/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, the 40-year-old ensemble performs a subscription series at San Francisco's Herbst Theatre. SFCMP has played at the Library of Congress and the MANCA Festival in Nice, France, as well as on such series as San Francisco Performances, Cal Performances, Other Minds, Los Angeles Monday Evening Concerts, the Morrison Artists Series, and the Festival of New American Music.
