The SIUC School of Music offers undergraduate degrees in 7 specializations and graduate degrees in 7 concentrations. Housed within the recently renovated and expanded Altgeld Hall, the school enjoys state-of-the-art acoustically engineered rehearsal halls, classrooms and practice rooms. The faculty constitutes a broad cross-section of outstanding, professionally active teachers. Aside from its educational role, the School of Music is a cultural center for the beautiful Southern Illinois region, presenting over 125 faculty and student performances each year, in addition to numerous guest concerts, recitals, workshops, masterclasses and seminars.
