SONIC FOREST has been awarded a residency partnership grant from CMA! March 25 through Earth Day, 2018, we'll present six performances at The Arc San Francisco. Gathering neighborhood residents to inter-act with Arc mentally different participants, Sonic Forest will promote an understanding of the relationship of music to nature.

The Eurasia Consort is happy to announce that CMA has awarded a Classical Commissioning Grant to our ensemble for a new work by Alice Shields. The piece will be composed for soprano, recorder, alto flute, Renaissance harp, oud, theorbo and percussion.

Ensemble Dal Niente

Ensemble Dal Niente has been selected to receive a CMA Classical Commissioning grant to commission composer Erin Gee. Erin's work, for 8 musicians, incorporates sound research she carried out in the Western Ghats mountain region in Maharashtra, India. Stay tuned for more updates on this terrific project.


Momenta is elated to have received a Classical Commissioning grant for a new work by Alvin Singleton! The extended-movement work, Glory Bound, features stark juxtapositions of contrasting ideas; as well as solos, duos, trios, and tuttis highlighting the many facets of Momenta.

Garth Newel Music Center (GNMC) was named the recipient of a CMA Classical Commissioning Grant for a new piece by composer, David Biedenbender. The work will be premiered by GNMC's resident chamber group, the Garth Newel Piano Quartet during GNMC's 2018 Summer Chamber Music Festival.


Matt Davis' Aerial Photograph has been awarded a CMA Residency Partnership Grant. Activities of the residency and new musical works based on conversations with New Yorkers will premier in January, 2018 at the Fort Washington Collegiate Church. More information to come!

Hello everyone! We are getting ready for our next show at Scullers in Boston on August 17th at 8 pm.  The band will be me on the flutes, Bill O' Connell- piano, Harvie S- bass and Jason Tiemann on the drums. I just love playing with these guys! All ears, nice guys, and so supportive! We're planning to have a great time!


September 16, Clifton Forge School of the Arts and Garth Newel's Alleghany Mountain String Project present a creative strings workshop that will feature world-class musicians from across the Country with music from Celtic, Swing, Jazz, op and Folk Ballads. Concert at 6:00.
