The Dmitri Matheny Group announces its fall season (10/26-12/13) of performances through the western states of Arizona, California, Washington and Oregon. The Jazz Noir tour features themes from film noir, spy thrillers and crime dramas, plus a selection of jazz classics and new works.
I'm thrilled to announce a bi-coastal tour by the Michael Dessen Trio to premiere Resonating Abstractions, commissioned through the 2011 New Jazz Works award. A Classical music empress and rock star improviser extraordinaire, Jannina fits right in to PQ, as she brings with her a shining smile and warm heart. We've got an exciting season ahead of us and are looking forward to another fantastic and creative year of music making!
I am excited to announce that I have been awarded a senior performing arts fellowship to conduct a music project in Kolkata, India for a year. My project is to study evening and late night ragas with Prattyush Banergee in Kolkata India. This will culminate in a new composition for jazz instrumentation called Nocturne.
