After a successful residency at Chamber Music Northwest, Akropolis is gearing up for their upcoming season. Highlights include appearances at LSU School of Music, Gettysburg College, Chamber Music Abu Dahbi, UT Austin, and more!

On September 9, at the Brubeck Institute in Stockton, California, Simon will premiere a large new work commissioned by Chamber Music America, House of Numbers performed by his all-star quartet Afinidad and the acclaimed chamber ensemble Imani Winds.

We are thrilled to announce that we, along with composer Ravi Kittappa, are the recipients of a 2016 CMA Commissioning Grant!  We can't wait to start this journey and will keep you updated along the way!


The Todd Marcus Jazz Orchestra is honored to be the recipient of a 2016 CMA New Jazz Works award. The band gained attention with its 2015 album Blues for Tahrir that features jazz with Middle Eastern influences of Marcus' Egyptian heritage. Now the ensemble prepares to explore its next steps and new music.

Projeto Arcomusical is delighted to have just received a CMA Classical Commissioning Grant and will collaborate with Elliot Cole to create "Roda," a 15-minute work for berimbau sextet for the 2017-2018 season!

Quince Contemporary Vocal Ensemble

We are very excited to announce a new commission by LJ White, which will be very generously supported by CMA!  Look out for the premiere in 2018!


Peter H. Bloom, historical woodwind specialist, will give a lecture-recital on the early saxophone at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston August 1 from 11 am to 12 pm.

Geof Bradfield Ensemble

I am thrilled and honored to be selected as one of the 2016 Chamber Music America New Jazz Works grantees, and am grateful to the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation for their generous and long standing support of this program. The Geof Bradfield Ensemble and guests will premier the new work for nonet in fall 2017.
