The Steve Griggs Ensemble will create Listen to Seattle, a program of narration and music inspired by the life and words of Chief Seattle, with support from a 4Culture Historic Site Specific Grant. The program will premiere at the Duwamish Long House in 2015 followed by free performances at historically significant sites.

Mendelssohn’s beautiful art song On Wings of Song, based on the text by Heinrich Heine, became hugely popular and has been transcribed for numerous instruments.  NSM now offers a lovely version for alto flute and piano.

The Steve Griggs Ensemble performed Panama Hotel Jazz to a sold-out crowd at Vashon Allied Arts on November 22. The performance was supported by a King County Community Engagement Grant.
