The Dream Songs Project is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a 2013 MRAC Community Arts grant. This award will allow the duo to commission a piece from composer Katherine Bergman, perform the piece on our January 2014 concerts, and record it for inclusion on our upcoming CD.
Our music is featured in a video commemorating the Triangle Factory Fire. (We will also be heard on the soundtrack of a new documentary about the late writer/activist Esther Broner.) Since 2005, THE PHOENIX CONCERTS, New York’s “plucky Upper West Side new-music series” (The New Yorker), has commissioned, premiered, and presented over one hundred contemporary composers’ works on nearly fifty concerts in Manhattan, Beijing, Saratoga Springs, and Seattle.
