1/23/15 - Duo YUMENO was awarded the Baroque Saal Award, given annually by the Aoyama Foundation in Kyoto, Japan.


The Walker Art Center, in collaboration with Asia Society and Duke Performances, will present a new cycle of compositions focused on creating a hybrid of jazz and Carnatic (South Indian) music by Rez Abbasi’s Invocation (Rez Abbasi, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Vijay Iyer, Johannes Weidenmueller, Dan Weiss, and Kiran Ahluwalia) in Feb 2016.


The Taylor Ho Bynum 7-tette will present workshops and public concerts at KCH during our 19th Annual Edgefest, Oct. 21-24. Supported by CMA's Presenter Consortium for Jazz and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.

CAM is also pleased to announce its first House Concert of the year will be held on Sunday, April 26th in Fairfield, CT.  Performing will be the Errante Trio!  Tickets are $25.  Contact the CAM office for details!  Hopefully, the snow will be gone by then!

CAM is pleased to announce that this year's Heida Hermanns International Music Competition will feature pianists, age 19-30, from around the globe.  This annual event, in its 44th year, will be held in Fairfield, CT on November 21-22, 2015.  Details to follow!

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Suzanne Kanner, CAM's figurehead, leader, president, colleague and friend, passed away on February 13, 2015.  Her dedication, love and work in the arts will always be remembered.

The brilliant and adventurous pianist and composer Vijay Iyer is a musician who stretches the boundaries of jazz, but has long reached beyond jazz's vocabulary. Iyer's trio makes their SFJAZZ Center debut in support of their new ECM Records release, Break Stuff.


New Thread's 2014/15 season continues with a masterclass on new chamber music at The Peabody Conservatory, the premiere of four compositions in partnership with Music for Contemplation in Brooklyn, and a performance at New England Conservatory’s Composers’ Series.


The Argus Quartet will be heading to Australia to compete as one of eight selected quartets at the 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition.  As part of their repertoire, Argus will be bringing their CMA Cassical Commissioning Grant winning piece by Eric Guinivan.
