My second record and the first with this fantastic trio. This has been my "working" band for the past two years, and this record brings together 9 compositions that we'd been performing 9 months prior to recording. A wonderful record featuring Kirk Knuffke - Cornet, Ziv Ravitz - Drums, and myself on Bass.
Spontaneous River, features Andrew Drury (dr) and Ken Filiano (bs) from Mr. Hwang’s quartet EDGE, in an orchestra of 37 string improvisers. His composition, Symphony of Souls is a spontaneous flow of notated passages and conducted improvisations.
A few tracks feature music performed by computer controlled instruments. Some is totally electronic and some of it is totally acoustic. Some uses patches conceived by Sean which allow the keyboard player to use the keys of the synthesizer in a non traditional manner.
Little Bluedevil, the second suite in bassist/composer Bill Noertker's Blue Rider series, takes us on a musical journey into abstraction, reflection, and enchantment. The Blue Rider group of painters (Kandinsky, Marc, Klee) is Noertker's inspiration here.
With music by Shawn Allison, André Brégégère, Angélica Negrón, Ed RosenBerg III, and Erich Stem, Cadillac Moon Ensemble employs a diverse array of sounds and techniques on Atlas, recorded on New Dynamic Records.
