An intoxicating mix of new and newly arranged music for flute and marimba, Prelude Cocktail is a collection of “major works for short attention spans,” including two world premieres and newly arranged favorites drawn from nearly four centuries of prelude repertoire.
The eponymous debut for Nashaz realizes an organic new union of jazz and Arabic music, with tastes of Sudan, the Balkans, and Central Asia. Featuring 8 intricate yet memorable compositions by the band’s leader, oud player Brian Prunka.
Impressions includes Marika Takeuchi's original chamber music, piano solo compositions and her latest film scores. Piano performed by her, guests musicians include Sofia Ynes Gonzalez Pikul (flute), Nick Quattrocchi (clarinet), Yuki Nakajima (violin), Helen Kim (violin), Samantha A. Gillogly (viola) and Sassan Hagjhighi (cello).
Our third recording, "Thwirl" was made after 8 years of collaboration and on the heels of a two-week European tour. The album captures the trio not only at peak telepathy, but charting new territories of shape and feel.
