Where can I get information about CMA's instrument insurance?
Clarion Associates, Inc. provides instrument insurance for CMA members. For more information, call 1-800-VIVALDI or click here.
Does CMA accept non-classical music groups in its membership?
CMA's definition of chamber music embraces many kinds of ensembles. In addition to classical and early music groups, we have a large Jazz constituency and a growing presence of art music from other cultures. To browse through links of members, please visit Meet Our Members.
Do I have to be a performing musician or "in the business" to be a member of CMA?
CMA is open to all people who love chamber music, whether performers, presenters, music-related businesses, or audience members.
What happens after I join CMA?
You will be sent a membership packet with instructions on how to begin taking advantage of your membership. You will also receive the most recent edition of the CMA membership directory and, as soon as the next issue appears, Chamber Music magazine and our quarterly newsletter, CMA Matters. For more information, see Summary of Benefits and Services.
When is the CMA Membership Directory published and what can I do to ensure that the information about my group is correct?
The membership directory is published each September. Starting in February, the membership department sends out an update form to each organization member and each professional musician. After receiving the completed forms, we enter the information into our database and then send out a proof for members to approve. The single most important thing that a member can do to ensure that the information is correct is to respond to these communications in a timely fashion.
Where is the Membership Directory distributed?
A copy of the Membership Directory is mailed to all members of CMA, as well as to members of the national press and state arts councils. It is also distributed at a number of booking conferences, including Western Arts Alliance, Arts Midwest, Performing Arts Exchange, Association of Performing Arts Presenters, and to numerous colleges and universities.
How can CMA help me save money on health care?
Health Savings Plus is a suite of health-care service plans created in collaboration with MBL Financial Group, CO-Health USA, and General Vision Services. These plans offer significant savings on regular doctor and chiropractic visits, vision-care expenses, dental services, and pharmaceuticals (both prescription and over-the-counter). Available in 49 states (authorization is pending in Florida), each of these services is remarkably affordable and can be used alone or to supplement your existing health insurance.
