Awards Professional Development
CMA Jazz
Chamber Music America actively supports its jazz members with a variety of grant and award opportunities, an annual conference, professional development programs and much more.
CMA jazz members include ensembles, individual artists, presenters, festivals, producers, agents, managers, publishers, other professionals and advocates, and organizations throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Core Grant Requirements
Eligible jazz ensembles must consist of a core group of 2 to 10 professional musicians, led by (or including) a composer/performer, with a demonstrated history of performing their own music. Not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) status is not necessary; however, CMA membership on the Organization level is required.
Eligible presenters or festivals must be not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations with a demonstrated history of music-presenting. CMA Organization-level membership is required.
Grant Opportunities
Residency Partnership
Application Deadline: February 11, 2011
Supports non-traditional residency projects between professional ensembles or presenters and community partners in rural, urban, and/or suburban communities.

New Jazz Works: Commissioning and Ensemble Development
Application Deadline: March 11, 2011
Supports professional jazz ensembles in the creation, performance, and cultivation of original work over a three-year project period.

Supports innovative collaborations of French and U.S. jazz artists (citizens or legal residents of their respective countries) that take place in one or both countries.
A partnership program with the French American Cultural Exchange (FACE) and the French Embassy.
